RDID
The RISD Digital Image Database, RDID, is an image bank created by the Visual Resources Center at the RISD Library. The database holds several collections of images contributed by departments across the school. The largest of these is the RISD Visual Resources Library, which at present comprises over 4,000 digital images of art and design objects. Faculty and students can access the database from on and off campus by using their Novell username/password. All the digital images are available for download for teaching and study purposes. For further information and training in the use of RDID, please contact the Visual Resources Librarian.
RISD Library Picture Collection
The Picture Collection contains over 450,000
images. Clippings, photographs, maps, mounted art prints and other items are
arranged by subject and nearly all circulate. If you need a reference photo

barbershop or a battleship, Winston Churchill or Martha Stewart, this is where
you
need to go. An iMac and flatbed scanner is available if you prefer your
clippings digital - images can be saved to a CD that may be purchased for
$1.00.
There is a black and white photocopier and a Go-Print station networked to a color printer.
There are stock
images and Dover clip art on CD-ROMs that may be checked out. Ask for them at
the Picture Collection counter. Browse or search the Picture Collection's Picture Collection Art File Index
(pdf) or Picture Collection Subject Index
(pdf) to locate folders by artist, medium, country, art
movement, or subject.
