Art Museum Image Gallery
An online collection of over 155,000 images documenting works of art from
museum collections around the world. Images range from 3,000 B.C. to present
including fine and decorative art, modern and contemporary art from Africa,

The online version of H W Wilson's Art Index provides indexing,
abstracting, and full text coverage of over 1000 international journals in fine
and applied arts, architecture, design, and museology. Indexing 1929 to
present, with abstracts from 1994 to present, and full text articles from 150
journals from 1997 to present. To access, check off the appropriate box on
the top yellow menu. More than one H W Wilson database can be searched at a

AskART is an online database containing over 120,000 artists from early 16th-century through the present. Access information about artists biographies, auction records, financial graphics, magazine ads(pre-1998) and images. Over 6,000 museums and dealers are also referenced.

COPA: Commercial Pattern Archive
COPA is a project that electronically captures and records commercial pattern data. Commercial patterns are full-scale tissue paper clothing patterns used by the home-sewer to create garments and accessories issued in the States as early as 1854. Film & Television Literature Index is a full text database covering film & television theory, preservation & restoration, writing, production, cinematography, technical aspects, and reviews. Gateway to 24 databases which index newspapers, journal articles, and academic writing
in a variety of subject categories including alternative press, biography, business, consumer

sciences, and technology. Dates of coverage vary. The search option,

GreenFILE
GreenFILE offers well-researched but accessible information covering all aspects of human impact on the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles include content on the environmental effects of individuals, corporations and local/national governments, and what can be done on each level to minimize negative impact. Topics covered include global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. GreenFILE is multidisciplinary by nature and draws on the connections between the environment and a variety of disciplines such as agriculture, education, law, health and technology.

JSTOR
JSTOR is an archive of important scholarly journals containing
high-resolution, scanned images of journal issues and pages as they were
originally designed, printed, and illustrated. JSTOR is not a current issues
database, there is a gap, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most
recently published journal issue and the back issues available in JSTOR. RISD Library subscribes to the following collections: Arts & Sciences I, II, and III and the Arts & Sciences Complement. Create links to

MLA International Bibliography
MLA International Bibliography offers a detailed bibliography of journal articles, books and dissertations. Produced by the Modern Language Association, the electronic version of the bibliography dates back to the 1920s and contains over 1.8 million citations from more than 4,400 journals & series and 1,000 book publishers. The indexed materials coverage is international and includes almost 60 titles from J-STORs language and literature collection as well as links to full text. Subjects consist of literature, language and linguistics, folklore, literary theory & criticism, dramatic arts, as well as the historical aspects of printing and publishing. RDID
The RISD Digital Image Database, RDID, is an image bank created by the Visual Resources Center at the RISD Library. The database holds several collections of images contributed by departments across the school. The largest of these is the RISD Visual Resources Library, which at present comprises over 4,000 digital images of art and design objects. Faculty and students can access the database from on and off campus by using their Novell username/password. All the digital images are available for download for teaching and study purposes. Rhizome is dedicated to the creation, presentation, preservation, and critique of emerging artistic practices that engage technology. Through open platforms for exchange and collaboration, Rhizome's website serves to encourage and expand the communities around these practices. Programs, many of which happen online, include commissions, exhibitions, events, discussion, archives and portfolios. - RISD Library Picture Collection
- The Picture Collection contains over 500,000
images. Clippings, photographs, maps, mounted art prints and other items are
arranged by subject and nearly all circulate. If you need a reference photo
of a
barbershop or a battleship, Winston Churchill or Martha Stewart, this is where
you
need to go. An iMac and flatbed scanner is available if you prefer your
clippings digital - images can be saved to a CD that may be purchased for
$1.00.
There is a black and white photocopier and a Go-Print station networked to a color printer.
There are stock
images and Dover clip art on CD-ROMs that may be checked out. Ask for them at
the Picture Collection counter. Browse or search the Picture Collection's Picture Collection Art File Index (pdf) or Picture Collection Subject Index (pdf) to locate folders by artist, medium, country, art
movement, or subject.

Ulrichsweb is the authoritative source of bibliographic and publisher information on more than 300,000 periodicals of all types: academic and scholarly journals, Open Access publications, peer-reviewed titles, popular magazines, newspapers, and newsletters from around the world. Search by keyword, title, subject or ISSN( International Standard Serial Number). Union List of Artist Names (ULAN)
The ULAN is a structured vocabulary currently containing around 293,000 names
and other information about 120,000 artists. Names in ULAN may include given
names, pseudonyms, variant spellings, names in multiple languages, and names
that have changed over time (e.g., married names). Among these names, one is
flagged as the preferred name. The temporal coverage of the ULAN ranges from
Antiquity to the present and the scope is global.
